We enjoyed our stay at Huron Breezes Cottage, Southampton, ON. The cottage is newly renovated, clean, well equipped and comfortable. It is centrally located and walking distance to Downtown, Fairy Lake and the Beach. Dave is a good host and responded quickly to our messages.
Cottage was great for my wife, 2 grandkids, son, Daughter in Law and I. Everything very clean, beds were great. The location is its best feature. Very short walk to an Outstanding Beach and just a few blocks from town.
Dave was great to deal with in the booking.
No problems at all.
Southampton is a wonderful vacation destination.
We just spent a nice winters weekend in Huron Breezes Cottage. Beautiful cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Any questions and Dave responded quickly. Would highly recommend to anyone!!!!
We stayed at Huron Breezes for three nights over the Thanksgiving weekend. Everything from the great location – just a couple of blocks from the beach and a short walk to town – to the comfortable bed, to thoughtful touches like wood and marshmallow sticks for the campfire, made our stay really ideal. Dogs are allowed on the beach from Oct-May and our two little guys had a wonderful time running in the sand and then coming back for cosy nights in this lovely cottage.
My dog and I enjoyed a lovely week at Huron Breezes. I had a friend visit for a few days as well. It has been newly renovated, very clean and nicely decorated. The neighbour next door lent us the History of Southampton and I walked the neighbourhood to see some of the many historic homes. The cottage my daughter is renting on Lambert Lane was in the book… 100 years old
I’ve been coming to Southampton for years so was familiar with restaurants and stores. Lucy & Dave thought of everything to make us comfortable. It’s hard to find a rental that will encourage dogs which I really appreciated. I have already recommended to another friend to look into renting next year.

My family enjoyed a wonderful week at Huron Breezes in Southampton. It is a lovely cottage – well-appointed, beautifully decorated, bright, breezy, and clean – and the perfect location for our getaway to Lake Huron, and base for day trips on the Bruce Peninsula. The cottage is a 2-minute walk to the sandy beach, which was groomed in the morning, offered great swimming, SUP, and spectacular sunsets in the evening. Southampton is charming, with a main street leading to the lake, a variety of local restaurants to choose from, cute coffee shops, and a popular ice cream spot. All of these were never more than a 10-minute stroll from the cottage. With some runners in the family, a lake side trail to Port Elgin was a popular morning route. We enjoyed the Muskoka chairs and firepit in the evenings, and appreciated dry kindling, firewood, and roasting sticks that were provided. We wanted to explore the Bruce Peninsula so visited Tobermory/Flowerpot Island (80 mins), Sauble Beach (15 mins), and the only rainy afternoon shopping in Port Elgin (10 mins). The cottage was perfectly situated for these day trips. We enjoyed a comedy at Southampton’s live theatre, the Bruce County Playhouse. Huron Breezes was the perfect accommodation for our trip, and Southampton is a gem on Lake Huron.
What a delight to spend a week at Dave and Lucy’s beautiful cottage! It has been completely renovated and has all the amenities that a person would want. The beds were comfortable and the fans kept us cool at night. We loved the covered porch where we would have our morning coffee before we made the 3 min walk to the magnificent beach! Sunsets are spectacular! We would highly recommend staying at this cottage as Dave and Lucy have thought of everything that would make your stay memorable!
Recently my family and I had the most perfect two week stay at ‘Huron Breezes’ cottage. The owners Lucy and Dave thought of everything to make the cottage inviting and comfortable. As soon as we arrived we were able to relax because the cottage was immaculate, beautifully decorated and had all of the essentials. We spent every clear day enjoying the beautiful sandy beach that is minutes away from the cottage. We also loved taking walks along the boardwalk in the evenings. At the end of the boardwalk there is a look out point, with lighthouses on the horizon – in both directions. The sunsets from this point were breathtaking and we were able to capture some really stunning photography! The downtown is also minutes away from the cottage and is quaint and well kept with lots to look at, including: restaurants, cafes, ice cream shops and even an art gallery. At night, we also had fun sitting outside of the cottage to roast Marshmallows using their fire pit. Even sleeping at Huron Breezes was a delight as the beds were very comfortable and there was always a nice breeze coming off the lake at night. We had the best time at Huron Breezes cottage and made some great memories there. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a spot to relax and enjoy some beautiful scenery.
As my first AirBNB experience, I am happy to have had a wonderful experience!
It was a clean & quiet place with great access to the beach, short walking distances to downtown amenities. It was cozy & homey with lots of space and areas to enjoy and relax, whether you were with children who wanted an area to play games and roast marshmallows at the firepit at night, or a couple who simply wanted to take in the sights and relax.
Dave thought of pretty much everything you need to just arrive and enjoy your vacation!
