+""Donnie was the perfect child, kind, loving, intellegent, never got into
trouble. Once we were running through the house and knocked over a lamp
and broke it. When mother asked who did it, Donnie said he did so I
wouldn't get punished. He didn't get punished because mom probably knew
who's idea it was to run in the house."" Marianne

+""Donnie, Margaret and I used to spend our summers with our grandmother,
Mama Ann in Hamilton. Aunt Provie had just made some of her delicous jam
and went upstairs warning us not to touch the wax seal because we could
burn ourselves. I convinced Donnie that he should stick his finger in
one to see if it had set yet. When he did, the seal broke and his finger
went through to the jam. Margaret ran upstairs to tell Aunt Provie and
Donnie hid in the furnace room. Instead of being punished, Aunt Provie
gave him some of the jam on bread. I guess she had been talking to mom
about me!"" Marianne

+""In high school (Sacred Heart Seminary), Donnie would come home on the
weekends and I would let him drive my car. On one occasion, an old man
ran a stop sign and hit Donnie on the driver's side. Fortunately, he was
not hurt and the car was repaired. I have often wondered why his life
was spared that time and why he died in 1990 in a similar accident.""
Marianne

+""I visited with Donnie and Carol at Easter time in 1990. I was very
sick at the time. Everyone thought I was going to die because I had lost
so much weight. Donnie said that when he went to Migagore and he was
going to put my picture on the wall and ask God to cure me. When they
returned I had just gotten out of the hospital (they found I was allegic
to glutens) and on my way to being healthy again. That October when I
stood next to his coffin, I wished that I could have a chance to give him
the same miracle he gave to me."" Marianne
